The Board of World Mission staff has been watching closely the progress of Hurricane Michael as it has made landfall on Florida’s panhandle and continues to move across southeastern states. Michael’s winds and storm surge were catastrophic for the coastal towns and villages in its path. Prayers are requested for all of those impacted by the storm and for the emergency responders and utility workers who are now hard at work saving people and restoring order.
We will be monitoring recovery efforts and joining our ecumenical partners to bring relief as we are able. Right now, most of our resources are being focused on continuing relief efforts on St. Thomas USVI, and teams traveling to Wilmington, NC in the next few weeks.
If you or a team from your congregation wishes to join and of these relief efforts or make a financial contribution to Moravian Disaster Response please contact the Board of World Mission at 610-868-1732 or visit our website at www.moravianmission.org.
