Tricklebee Café is a pay-what-you-can community café that offers healthy meals, food-service training, and spiritual nourishment in Milwaukee, WI. This mission site is a ministry of the Moravian Church under the direction of the Rev. Christie Melby-Gibbons. This coming summer Tricklebee is partnering with the Urban Gathering Center of Milwaukee and will be one of several service sites for their Urban Mission Trips.
Groups of up to 32 who participate in the program can stay at the Urban Gathering Center of Spirit of Peace Lutheran Church, which has real beds, individual showers, and a kitchen for preparing meals.
Tasks at Tricklebee will include: deep cleaning, drywalling, putting on new floor covering, painting, and refurbishing the apartment behind their cafespace, which will then be used use for storage, office space, and laundry. The most important task, however, will be community building and a growing awareness of one’s place in God’s kingdom.
