Join Bishop Sam Gray at his workshop at the Moravian Mission Summit!

Event Purpose: A day of learning and understanding our role as mission-minded Moravians for Jesus Christ.

Are you looking for a way to engage in mission? Do you just want to know more about the past, present and future of mission in a Moravian context? Well, then we have a perfect event for you! All are welcome!

On Sunday, October 21st the First Moravian Church of Dover, Ohio will host a Moravian Mission Summit with the theme of it being “A GREAT Day for Mission”, and the Board of World Mission is happy to fully endorse this event as it does, in fact promise to be a great day for mission!

Here is a preview of the workshop to be led by Bishop Sam:

Mission is more than just a trip! Sure, sometimes joining in God’s mission involves taking a trip so that we can be where God needs us to be for this mission to happen. In this workshop we will explore some ways in which we can “do mission” in a way that best reflects the One who sends us out in mission, no matter where that might be.

A message from Pastor John Wallace: I am elated to share with you information about the Mission Summit event to be held this fall, a first in the history of the congregation! I have been planning, emailing, texting, making phone calls, writing letters, and organizing this program since March. We have been so fortunate to assemble a wonderful day of mission and ministry. This program is financed by us, but fully endorsed and embraced by the Moravian Board of World Mission. On that day, we will have three Moravian Bishops with us, a special mission Lovefeast, special musical moments, speakers from both American Provinces, a mission-minded luncheon with a Honduran Moravian menu, and ten 45-minute workshops on various subjects. We will close the day with a prayer service. This will be a day of days! The event is designed for all ages! You are invited to bring the kids and guests to this total mission immersion event. I believe the speakers and the “God Stories” shared will inspire us and embolden our mission-minded spirit. Our poster on Page 2 is saturated with vital and practical information for you. October 21, 2018, is a GREAT Day for Mission.
